COURSE DESCRIPTION

Teachers of prekindergarten through high school and other district personnel must receive training on the Hazards Communications Act before working in the area or with hazardous materials.  Teachers new to the profession must receive safety training before they work with or in an area containing hazardous chemicals; however, district personnel changing assignments only require training on hazardous materials not covered in their initial training and updates. 

 

COURSE BREAKDOWN

Science safety training enables educators to

  • prepare, model, and instruct proper safety procedures and practices for students;
  • plan, implement, and actively supervise appropriate science activities;
  • monitor and maintain safety equipment, laboratory space, materials, and chemicals; and

This course will appeal to science teachers teaching 6th-12th grade. This is designed to fulfill your training requirements for safety certification. You will receive 6 hours of CPE credit upon completion.
