This workshop will serve as the yearly six-hour state-mandated updated for the 23/24 school year. This workshop will focus on some of the basic concepts and applications of gifted and talented education. Focus will include:
- Characteristics of GT students.
- How to identify GT learners and refer them for assessment for possible placement in a GT program.
- The variety of GT models available for GT students.
- The role of the GT committee and the overall process of identification, placement, servicing, and exiting GT students.
- Various instructional strategies to engage the GT learner and to differentiate learning.
