This Canvas Course is designed as a 5 hour credit course. Participants will learn how to deep dive into their course TEKS and a make a plan that will allow for successful teaching and learning of those TEKS over the school year.

As CTE teachers, it is important to plan ahead.  Many of us teach multiple preps per day - maybe you have 4 or 5 different preps!  It’s hard to "fake it 'til you make it" in every class you teach.  You might also be teaching a class just outside your comfort zone. If you are one of the teachers that transitioned directly from the industry to the classroom with no teacher prep program in between, spending time to map out how your year will go and which TEKS will be addressed in a given part of the year will boost your confidence.

An instructional map will be a useful tool to organize your thoughts, skills and desired student outcomes.
