This training is designed to provide educators with an in-depth understanding of the various types of transition assessments and how the information gained from the assessments is used to determine students' interests, preferences, needs and strengths in order to assist students in reaching post-secondary goals. A variety of tools and resources will be shared to enable participants to confidently chose appropriate transition assessments, administer those assessments, and use the assessment data to drive transition planning.
IDEA 2004 requires that the IEP include “appropriate measurable post-secondary goals based upon age appropriate transition assessments”.
