Transition Assessment

This training is designed to provide educators with an in-depth understanding of the various types of transition assessments and how the information gained from the assessments is used to determine post-secondary goals. A variety of tools and resources will be shared to enable participants to confidently chose appropriate transition assessments, administer those assessments, and use the assessment data to drive transition planning.

IDEA 2004 requires that the IEP include “appropriate measurable post-secondary goals based upon age appropriate transition assessments”.

Important Session Information:

Attention Transition Specialists and Transition Coordinators!  Do you need new transition assessments or want to expand the resources you have for transition assessment?  This working session will explore a variety of transition assessments available for free and for purchase.  Hard copy samples of assessments will be reviewed.  The components of a Functional Vocational Evaluation (FVE) will also be explored.  Time will be allotted to build a personal collection of interviews and assessments for multiple cognitive levels as well as grade levels. Come join us!
