Charting the Course: Successfully Planning Your District Transition Event






Calling all Transition Specialists and Special Education teachers!  Do you want to host a transition event for your students and their families.  Need resources and curriculum to pull off a successful event?  We have you covered.  This in-person trainer-of-trainer event will provide training and student-friendly materials for five hours of event sessions for rollout in Spring 2023.  Topics include Career Exploration, Postsecondary Options and Processes, Work-Based Learning Opportunities, Balancing Work with benefits, and Self-Advocacy. Worried about rolling out the event on your own? No problem! Join the Region 8 virtual Saturdays with one-hour watch parties at your district. Need flexibility on dates and times? District staff can also opt to offer these topics in a single day or multiple days on dates and with times that work for their students and families. A $275 stipend is offered for district staff who complete the November session and host the events in the Spring.
