Supporting Children with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities & Co-Occurring Mental Health Conditions

Children with disabilities are at a greater risk for traumatic experiences, which can impact success in the classroom. This workshop, presented by SAFE's Disability Services Program staff, is offering a workshop for classroom teachers, school counselors, diagnosticians and other educational staff to increase understanding of the impact of trauma such as medical trauma, bullying, abuse and neglect on children with Intellectual and/or other Developmental Disabilities. Workshop participants will explore new options for thinking about and responding to emotional and behavioral challenges in the classroom setting.
