This event encourages you to bring your team of counselors, administrators, CTE leadership, and teachers to create your game plan for student post-secondary success. Going Merry is a free financial aid application platform for students used in 2 of 3 US high schools. With a simple, six-step process, Going Merry helps students achieve their educational goals with less debt. Going Merry has revolutionized the FAFSA application, created a platform to digitize local scholarships, designed the largest database of verified national scholarships in the country, and educates students on college affordability. Going Merry enables counselors to track their students’ progress through the FAFSA and their scholarship applications, making it easy to identify which students need support. In addition, Going Merry provides a simple tool to help counselors host their local scholarship programs online. With an ever-growing resource bank of lesson plans, support, and easy to use tools, Going Merry can save counselors time and frustration while empowering their students to self-advocate. *Presenter will be joining session virtually*

TSIA 2.0: Strategies for Success

The TSIA 2.0 is a bridge for students between high school and their post-secondary journey as well as an opportunity for the school to earn CCMR points. During this session, we will examine the components of the test, identify trouble spots that students frequently encounter, and begin discussion about how LEAs can create a plan to help students prepare for success on the TSIA 2.0.

Civil Air Patrol - The Intersection of Career, College and Military Preparation.

Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is an auxiliary of the Air Force and provides STEM resources and competitions for teachers and students both inside and outside the program. As an active member, adults and students meet weekly to develop leadership, STEM activities and opportunities to explore careers in aerospace. CAP also offers teachers a free ACE program (Aerospace Connections in Education). ACE is a fun, interactive aerospace/STEM program for CAP Educator members.

College and Career School Model, Certifications and Degrees- Oh My!

Texas College Bridge

Important Breakout Information:
Texas College Bridge is an online, competency-based program that can be implemented to satisfy HB5 College Preparatory Courses. The math and English curricula were structured by postsecondary faculty to ensure they provide the ideal level of review and readiness for success in Texas college courses and meet Texas TSI standards. To date, greater than 70% of two- and four-year institutions and 400 school districts have adopted Texas College Bridge. Early efficacy data from Dallas College demonstrated that students who enrolled in entry-level math courses after completing the program had a higher overall passing percentage than college students who did not participate in Texas College Bridge. What's more, the program offers the ability to demonstrate empirical equivalencies to Texas CCMR indicators, including the SAT, ACT, and TSIA.
