Foldables in Action: Interactive Notebooks in Elementary Social Studies






Transform elementary social studies notebooks into meaningful tools for student thinking. In this hands-on session, participants will explore interactive notebooking strategies and create foldables inspired by Dinah Zike’s work. Teachers will experience practical activities that help students organize vocabulary, compare concepts, sequence historical events, analyze primary sources, develop map skills, and explain their learning. Participants will leave with classroom-ready examples, differentiation ideas, and strategies for managing interactive notebooks without sacrificing valuable instructional time.
