Is literature more of a reflection of history, or is history more than the backdrop for literature? This interactive, Socratic-seminar-style workshop invites social studies and ELAR teachers to explore the powerful, two-way relationship between American literature and U.S. History. Participants will receive electronically all materials for the workshop a week prior to the workshop date. They will be expected to prepare for the workshop by reading and be able to reflect on the materials in Socratic discussions throughout the day. Participants are encouraged to bring supplemental resources and information to add to the discussions.
