Connecting the Dots: Building a Purposeful PE Curriculum
Presented by Texas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (TAHPERD)

A purposeful physical education program doesn't happen by chance—it is intentionally designed. In this interactive 6-hour professional development, participants will learn how to connect the essential pieces of a high-quality PE curriculum into a cohesive, year-long plan. Together, we'll explore strategies for building a positive classroom culture, develop a purposeful scope and sequence, unpack the TEKS to identify instructional priorities, and design engaging, standards-based lessons that maximize student learning. Throughout the day, participants will also experience a variety of ready-to-use games and activities that reinforce skill development while keeping students active and engaged. Whether you're new to teaching or looking to refine your curriculum, you'll leave with practical resources, fresh ideas, and a clear roadmap for creating a PE program with purpose.
