Using Primary Sources: History Detectives
Share
Grab your magnifying glass and get ready to crack the case! In this interactive workshop, teachers will become
History Detectives
as they investigate photographs, maps, letters, political cartoons, and artifacts to uncover clues from the past. Participants will learn how to turn elementary students into curious investigators who observe closely, ask thoughtful questions, analyze evidence, and draw conclusions like real historians. Through hands-on activities, collaborative challenges, and ready-to-use classroom resources, teachers will discover engaging ways to make primary sources accessible, meaningful, and fun while building inquiry, critical thinking, literacy, and historical understanding in K–5 classrooms.
