Important Session Information:

Problem Solving Day 1: Grades 3-5

This session focuses on problem solving through the use of numberless word problems to strengthen students’ understanding of mathematical context within single and multi-step word problems. Teachers will examine how students often jump directly to manipulating numbers without fully considering the relationships represented in a situation. Emphasis is placed on helping students make sense of the story first, using early math models and math pictures to represent relationships and build a foundation for meaningful problem solving aligned to the TEKS.

Registration ends at 12:00 AM on Friday, September 25, 2026
