Elementary Essentials: Foundations for Strong Mathematicians
Numeracy Grade 3-5






A professional development series designed to deepen educators' understanding of the TEKS and their alignment both within and across grade levels. Focusing on core components of numeracy, problem solving, geometry, and data. Each session is organized around the reporting categories and big ideas that connect learning throughout a student’s school year to support coherent instruction and strong conceptual development in elementary mathematics.

Sessions are purposefully designed to cater within specific grade ranges K-2 and 3-5.


Important Session Information:


Numeracy: Grades 3-5

This session focuses on the development of numeracy and number sense across Grades 3-5. Teachers will explore the evolution of facts and the arc of learning built around numbers, their values, and relationships. Emphasis is placed on the strategies, models, and tools outlined in the TEKS that students are expected to use as self-scaffolds, supporting flexible thinking and a strong foundation for future mathematical understanding.
