Using CBMs to Establish Baseline Data and Strengthen Impact Statements
A Virtual Training

This session is intended for evaluators and school psychologists looking to improve their impact statements within FIIEs, FIEs, and REEDs.

Curriculum-Based Measures (CBMs) are efficient, evidence-based tools that can strengthen evaluation practices and support clear, data-driven decision making. In this session, participants will learn how CBMs can be used to establish meaningful baseline data, inform eligibility discussions, and strengthen impact statements in Full and Individual Evaluations (FIEs).

Through examples and practical guidance, participants will explore how CBM data can be integrated with other evaluation information to describe a student’s current performance, connect disability characteristics to grade-level expectations, and support the development of measurable goals and specially designed instruction.

Participants will be introduced to several free, widely available CBM resources for reading, writing, and math that can be used for evaluation and progress monitoring.
