Successful completion of both days will allow teachers to administer the AWS D1.1 and D9.1 certifications to students.

Day 1- A review of the current TEA Accountability List: AWS D1.1, AWS D9.1, API 1104, AWS SENSE, AWS Certified Welder

• A basic overview of Stick and MIG welding steel.
• Welding defects, visual inspection and the use of welding inspection tools (provided)
• A review of weld test lesson plans for basic AWS D1.1, AWS D9.1 welder certification

Day 2- A practical review of AWS D1.1 Tack weld test, AWS D9.1 Sheet weld test and AWS Groove Weld test, inspection and destructive testing for welder certification.

• Completing application paperwork for welder certification
• Oxy-Fuel Torch training and completion of the certification practical portion (if desired)
