This session will provide a comprehensive overview of transition planning within the IEP, with a focus on both compliance and meaningful, student-centered outcomes. Participants will explore the development of age-appropriate transition assessments, measurable postsecondary goals, and coordinated services aligned to employment, education/training, and independent living. The session will also address cyclical compliance requirements within the IEP, along with best practices for developing strong, data-driven PLAAFPs that clearly support transition planning. Emphasis will be placed on aligning all components of the IEP, including courses of study and ARD committee decisions, to ensure a cohesive plan that promotes successful postsecondary outcomes for students with disabilities.
