Music and Learning: The Power of Music in the Classroom

Research shows that music activates multiple areas of the brain at once—improving focus, strengthening memory, reducing stress, and increasing engagement. When students are calm and emotionally connected, their brains are better prepared for learning.

In this session, you’ll explore the science behind the music–brain connection and walk away with simple, ready-to-use instructional strategies that work across all grade levels and content areas. We’ll also highlight connections to the Fine Arts Music TEKS, showing how music integration can support both core content and fine arts standards. From boosting retention to increasing student participation, you’ll gain practical ideas you can implement immediately to create a positive, energized learning environment.
