Summary: This session, led by Nicholas Keith, Associate Commissioner of Curriculum and Instruction at the Texas Education, Agency, will guide superintendents, district leaders, and educator preparation program leaders through evidence-based strategies for improving mathematics outcomes. We will explore five system-level approaches centered on curriculum, instruction, assessment, professional development, and managed instruction. The presentation will also highlight why strategic changes—such as direct, explicit instruction and high-quality instructional materials—are essential for boosting student achievement and postsecondary success across Texas.
