English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) Training for Content Area Teachers
ELPS for Secondary Teachers
Share
Participants will learn how to use the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) and the Proficiency Level Descriptors (PLDs) in the content areas to improve academic instruction for emergent bilingual students. The ELPS are an integral part of each subject and
are published along with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for each subject in the required curriculum.
Important Session Information:
Discover what is new in the updated English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) and learn practical strategies to support emergent bilingual (EB) learners in every
secondary
classroom. We will walk through moving to 5 proficiency levels and the new subject-specific descriptors. Let's unpack what is new, what is familiar, and what it means for your classroom.
