Social Studies: Designing and Implementing Social Studies Assessments for the STAARs and Beyond
Share
The role of assessment in the classroom goes way beyond STAAR. While STAAR is limited to a specific testing date in the spring of the year, the effective use of pre-assessments, formative assessments, and summative assessments throughout the year can help prepare students for better performance on STAAR and to become more confident learners of U.S. History. Workshop participants will not only focus on these types of assessments, but also will explore strategies to effectively implement and spiral content vocabulary into easy-prep activities (bell ringers and exit tickets). This workshop is great for teachers needing a comprehensive approach to STAAR and for those who want to hone their skills in creating assessments that will provide the data needed for data-driven instruction.
