The intended audience for this training is special education evaluation personnel,
including school psychologist, educational
diagnosticians, speech-language pathologists (SLPs), and others responsible for evaluating a
student and writing the report.
To ensure increased achievement and access to the general curriculum for students with
disabilities, an IEP process called a “Standards-Based IEP” has been recommended as a best
practice for achieving academic goals.
This session will discuss the following topics:
• Key concepts of a standards-based IEP process
• Student data and the full and individual evaluation (FIE)
• Present levels of academic achievement and functional performance (PLAAFP)
• Measurable annual goals
• Data collection and monitoring
