Day 2






This 3 day series is a comprehensive guide to  evidence based instruction giving teachers the knowledge base they need to help English learners develop strong literacy skills and achieve academic success. Teachers will get research-based insights on how to teach English learners, guidance on making connections across languages when teaching the key components of language and literacy, and ready-to-use principles and strategies for instruction.

This 3 day series is a comprehensive guide to evidence based instruction giving teachers the knowledge base they need to help English learners develop strong literacy skills and achieve academic success.

Teachers will get research-based insights on how to teach English learners, guidance on making connections across languages when teaching the key components of language and literacy, and ready-to-use principles and strategies for instruction.

Day 2 will explore the five components of literacy instruction for English learners and how to provide instruction on each including the development of phonological awareness skills in the second language, making cross linguistic connections when possible to enhance comprehension and native language support to extend vocabulary skills in the second language.
