Making the ELPS-TELPAS Connection






This training will familiarize teachers and campus/district administrators with how the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS), in conjunction with TELPAS, support sound instructional practices for emergent bilingual students (ELs). This training explains the connection between the ELPS and TELPAS and provides a thorough overview of using the ELPS PLDs effectively in ongoing instruction.

Important Session Information:


In this session participants will make the connection between the Texas English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) and the Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS). We will also learn how to incorporate the ELPS in our instructional planning to engage students in intentional language practice and analyze assessment data for targeted second language proficiency growth.
