Mathematical Foundations for Our System of Tens
Kindergarten-1st Grade
Share
Strong numeracy is the beginning of the foundational understandings of our mathematical system, with ten as the pivotal number. This session will cover strategies for teaching numeracy, that we have ten digits (0-9) in our number system, and that place value is dependent on the understanding of 10 (and even 5). We will also determine how to move these strategies and practices into math centers.
