Social Studies: Overarching Concepts: Effectively Using the Concept of Push/Pull Factors in Teaching Major Migrational Movements in Social Studies for Grades 6-12

Participants will explore major thematic push/pull factors within their respective areas of instruction and learn how to apply those within the Instructional Focus Documents found in TEKS Resource System. There will be various hands-on experiences and project-based learning strategies discussed throughout the day with the overarching goal of helping students better understand the reasons people throughout history have moved from one place to the other.
