Virtual PD - WBSCM Series: RA002 - FDP Foundations - MENU PLANNING






Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) currently utilizes Texas Unified Nutrition Program System (TX-UNPS) to manage USDA Foods for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP).  On August 1, 2022 TDA transitioned the entitlement management, ordering, and receiving functions from the TX-UNPS FDP module to USDA's Web Based Supply Chain Management (WBSCM) system.


Important Session Information:


This is an ONLINE session for the Web Based Supply Chain Management (WBSCM) Recipient Agencies (RA).

This module will provide an overview of menu planning requirements necessary for forecasting with a focus on creating a Cycle Menu incorporating USDA Foods.

Objective of this class is for participants to be able to:

• Understand meal planning purpose and benefits

• Identify Meal Component Requirements

• Identify USDA nutrition requirements including:

o Calorie

o Saturated Fat

o Sodium

• Understand how to create
