Cybersecurity Basics






Wondering how to incorporate basic cybersecurity skills into your classroom? Cybersecurity Basics is an introductory course for students in grades K-8. This course introduces cybersecurity topics that affect our everyday life in plain, simple language ensuring it is approachable for beginners. Teachers will be provided with relevant activities that help students understand basic cybersecurity concepts such as layered security, personally identifiable information, privacy policies, cyberbullying, encryption, and more.

Presenters will explain how to lead students to actively analyze and debate these important cybersecurity concepts at an age-appropriate level. The resources shared in this session are easily modifiable for any classroom, and K-8 teachers will receive access to no-cost lessons from CYBER.ORG, cyber safety videos, and cyber career profile cards. The course can be taught in any order and by any teacher.

**NoteThis workshop is provided in collaboration with cyber.org and Texas Tech University. This session will be held at the Jeffersonian Institute in Jefferson, TX.
