Building Powerful Numeracy

Based on the books by Pamela Weber Harris, this workshop will work to address numeracy ideas for the teacher first, then strategies to improve numeracy within Secondary Math students across the upper grades (6-12).

Having facts memorized worked for us as a society in the industrial revolution.  However, in the midst of the technological revolution in which we live, memorized facts do not allow us to find the creative solutions that are now required.  Join us as we embark upon a double sided journey, one of personal growth and one of professional knowledge.  This day will challenge you individually and provide tools for you to grow your students.

In addition to the professional development, registration in this workshop and its associated cost will include the books Building Powerful Numeracy for Middle and High School Students and Lessons and Activities for Building Powerful Numeracy, both by Pamela Weber Harris.
