G/T Annual Six-Hour Update 2023-2024: G/T Basics 101






This workshop will serve as the yearly six-hour state-mandated updated for the 23/24 school year. This workshop will focus on some of the basic concepts and applications of gifted and talented education. Focus will include:

  1. Characteristics of GT students.
  2. How to identify GT learners and refer them for assessment for possible placement in a GT program.
  3. The variety of GT models available for GT students.
  4. The role of the GT committee and the overall process of identification, placement, servicing, and exiting GT students.
  5. Various instructional strategies to engage the GT learner and to differentiate learning.
