Activating Prior Knowledge: Tools and Strategies






Activating prior knowledge is a powerful teaching strategy. Discovering what your students already know and building from there has one of the highest effect sizes on learning based on John Hattie's research. We will look at different ways you can use digital tools to assess students prior to starting your lesson and during your lesson. We will also take some time to look at other high quality instructional strategies and how you can use them with Google tools. This will be a hands-on session, so come ready to share, create and take back great tools for your classroom. You may bring your own device or use one of ours.
