Texas Education Code 33.005 (2019) states that school counselors must “plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive school counseling program that conforms to the most recent edition of The Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs”. This presentation will help you do just that! The morning session will cover a content overview of the TX Model Guide, as well as detailing the three stages of creating a comprehensive school counseling program (CSCP)- planning, implementing and evaluating. The afternoon session will have a planning activity where participants can work through a CSCP checklist and collaborate with teammates who are also attending this training. For some of you, creating a CSCP may seem like an overwhelming project- this presentation will give you a clear blueprint to navigate the journey!
