This workshop will focus on teaching strategies for new types of questions expected on the upcoming 8th and 11th grade STAAR, as well as, helping teachers learn how to write/create these types of questions to give students experience in answering them well before testing day. Much of the morning session will be spent learning about question types and the pedagogy and rationale for their use. The afternoon will give participants an opportunity to learn how to write assessment items into their unit and lesson assessments.

Participants will also leave the training with ongoing technical support and avenues for continued communication with their Region 8 colleagues to help support them throughout the school year.
