Virtual PD Fostering Effective Inferences in Secondary ELAR
Share
This two part virtual workshop will provide an overview of both surface level and deep level inferences and the skills and processes necessary for making an effective inference. Participants will develop foundational knowledge of local, global and elaborate inferences and how each of these types of inferences might help (and at times hurt!) a child's ability to comprehend.Specific strategies for teaching inference-making will be shared. Strategies shared can be modified to meet the skill levels of both upper and lower elementary students. Part 1 (a.m.) of this workshop will focus on foundational knowledge. Part 2 (p.m.) will focus on instructional strategies. Participants must attend both parts in order to receive credit.
