This 3-hour workshop will supply secondary ELA/ELD/ESL teachers with tools to build better writers. We will examine writing practices through the lens of language acquisition theory, explore engaging activities that will boost competence and confidence of emergent writers, and focus on sentence and paragraph skills that students need to move forward on end-of-year examinations. Participants will walk away with activities to implement during daily ELA instruction, small-group remediation, or as a part of the summer school curriculum.
