Virtual PD - Best Practices for Identifying Dyslexia in the FIE






Please join Virginia Gonzalez, Diagnostician and Former State Dyslexia Consultant, to review the Dyslexia identification process through a differential diagnosis approach and analyze the characteristics of Dyslexia and a Specific Learning Disability. Emphasis will be placed on the domains to be assessed and how to use a pattern of strengths and weaknesses to differentiate between Dyslexia and other disabilities. Participants will also learn the administration and scoring of the CTOPP-2 and GORT-5.  Virginia will address the Special Education pathway of Dyslexia assessment and identification. This workshop will be only for current assessment professionals such as Diagnosticians and LSSPs.

As well as, Ms. Gonzalez will train on how to administer and score the GORT5 and CTOPP2.  Participants will also reflect on the Special Education pathway of Dyslexia assessment and identification.  This workshop is for Special Education Assessment Personnel only, such as Diagnosticians and LSSPs.
