Within the U.S. History curriculum (TEKS), there are many overlapping TEKS that scaffold into twelfth grade government class. This workshop will examine those overlapping TEKS and explore problem-based learning opportunities for 8th and 11th grade students that can not only better-prepare them for STAAR and EOC but also prepare them for a more meaningful and engaging experience as seniors in their semester government class. Participants will have an opportunity to collaborate with colleagues and will develop a sharable Google document with lesson and ideas centered on PBL blended (synchronous and asynchronous) learning opportunities.
