The online Zoom course will include interactive lecture to present theories and research that are the foundation of augmentative/alternative communication best practices. Participants will be able to describe the predictive assessment components that need to be addressed in an AAC evaluation, specifically considering vision, hearing, fine motor, and gross motor abilities. Additionally, interactive activities to identify the features the individual needs and then match to three devices and or apps that match the features.  Participants will use the feature match analysis to make determination of devices/apps.  Operational competences and trial devices will be discussed as well as who is involved supporting the student.  ( A link will be sent to you to access the course.)
