Social Studies K-5: A Focus on the Process Skills--Analyzing Information by Using a Variety of Skills






This workshop for K-5 social studies teachers will focus on the following TEKS processing skills, which apply to all grade levels:

>Applying absolute and relative chronology through sequencing, categorizing, and identifying cause and effect relationships

to  acquire information about the United States

Teachers will spend the day going through simulations themselves that pertain to the mastery of these TEKS and then will work with colleagues to design and develop activities for their specific grade level that will help students improve in using these social studies processes.
