Using Scratch or Scratch Jr to Expand the Hour of Code
Programming with Scratch for Beginners

Scratch is a free program developed by MIT for people of all ages.  We will be learning Scratch Jr (iPad App) and Scratch.  Learning how to incorporate it into your subject areas.

With Scratch, you can program your own interactive stories, games, projects, and animations — and share your creations with others.

Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively — essential skills for life in the 21st century.

The ability to code computer programs is an important part of literacy in today’s society. When people learn to code in Scratch, they learn important strategies for solving problems, designing projects, and communicating ideas.
