GT Program Evaluation & Update Workshop
GT Coordinator/Counselor Meeting






Gifted and talented coordinators and directors are invited to join the Region 8 team in evaluating their district's current GT program.  The purpose of this three-hour meeting is to provide Region 8 GT leaders with a forum to discuss how they assess students and provide services.  An open discussion will be held in which coordinators can communicate with one another to discuss how to improve their district's program.  Using the state plan, districts will be able to categorize themselves as either compliant, recommended, or exemplary.  They will then develop an improvement plan with the goal of becoming a GT Exemplary School/ISD.  Three-hour meetings will be held quarterly so that all GT counselors and administrators can receive the required six-hour GT yearly update.
