WELLNESS POLICY DEVELOPMENT:
The Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act requires each local educational agency participating in the National School Lunch Program or other federal Child Nutrition programs to establish a local school wellness policy for all schools under its jurisdiction.
The local wellness policy is a written document that guides an LEA's efforts to establish a school environment that promotes students Health, Well-being, and Ability to learn.
Participants will learn what is needed to meet these requirements locally as well as how to create and perform the annual assessment.
AUDIENCE: Food Service Directors, Managers, School Nurse, PE Teachers, any Wellness committee member/stakeholder.
