This summit is specifically designed with the 8th grade U.S. History (1492-1877) in mind. In this session, participants will be required to share at least one effective, successful idea/unit/lesson/activity. There will be a shared google document for those registered to fill out before attending. This document is to reduce and eliminate repetitive ideas and lessons being presented. There will also be a pot-luck lunch, so participants will be asked to bring a food item. A meat dish will be provided so sides and desserts will be required.
This workshop idea stems from discussions among colleagues throughout Region 8 who yearn for an opportunity to spend time with 8th grade teachers to glean ideas, strategies, successes an failures. We usually learn best from one another. We will also discuss various strategies for STAAR review later in the spring term.
Hope you can attend.
