Special Education Literacy Institute - Universal Design for Learning



Special Education and General Education Teachers will learn about Universal Design for Learning when working with students who receive special education services in reading.  Kasia Derbiszewska (pronounced Kah-shah Der-bih-sheh-ska) is a professional development consultant who specializes in the field of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) will be presenting during this two day workshop.  Kasia earned her Ed.M. in Mind, Brain, and Education from Harvard University.   In this two day workshop, teachers will have the opportunity to review best practices in reading and explore ways to Universally Design reading opportunities to meet the needs of all of their students.  Teachers will have create and develop reading activities that are universally designed for their students.
