GT Six-Hour Yearly Update: The 2e Student and Differentiated Instruction (CAP)

Under the Big Top at Region 8--The Most Differentiated Show on Earth

Come join the GT circus theme at Region 8 for your six-hour state mandated GT update this school year. We will focus in the morning on the twice-exceptional student (the 2e student).  We will also learn about the characteristics and identification of these students and then will learn about the Bridges Academy, a school that specialize in servicing the 2e student.  This training dovetails with our 2017 Region 8 ESC GT Summit held last summer at Region 8. We will view and discuss in detail the Thomas Ropelewski film 2e Twice Exceptional.

For the afternoon, we will focus on C.A.P.--facilitating the "creative", the "analytical", and the "practical" gifted learner.  Participants will receive Dr. Carrie Simpson's new book, Design DI: CAP Activities for Process Differentiation.  Participants will pick up numerous instructional strategies and classroom tools for differentiating instruction to meet the specific needs of GT students.
